Matthew 6:33 (KJV) “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
On the 4th of December 2000, I fell into a trance (a vision) between the hours of 7-8am. In this trance, I was approaching a Church building where I was to preach to some persons. Suddenly, the heavens opened and I heard the voice of God saying to me, “Tell my people to Do First Things First.” Therefore, I consider this subject matter, my primary message to my generation. In the next few days, I will be teaching on subject matters related to this main theme – Doing First Things First.
In Scripture, “first things first” is not a cliché; it is a spiritual law of priorities. God never competes for a place in our lives; He demands pre-eminence. From Genesis to Revelation, God reveals Himself as One who must be first in affection, allegiance, and action. We must deal with anything that takes priority over God – ambition, relationships, success, or even ministry itself. The Lord Jesus must have pre-eminence in our thoughts, decisions, and pursuits.
