Psalm 127:1 (KJV) “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.”
Starting strong in the New Year implies building a strong foundation for a massive success in life, business, and career. The LORD our God values strong foundations, and every worthy beginning starts with God at the centre. Our Scriptural text teaches us that God is interested in the building of our lives, families, ministries, businesses, or careers. A year begun with prayer and consecration positions us for divine direction and guidance. Starting strong means acknowledging our dependence on God.
Again, starting strong means starting with the RIGHT PRIORITIES – spiritual growth, healthy relationships, etc. The Bible says, “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness …” (Mat. 6:33). When God is first, other areas find balance. Our choice of priorities will determine our investments of time, energy, and finances. A strong beginning in life, ministry, or a new year is not measured by how busy we are, but by how well-ordered our lives are. Right priorities are shaped by eternal values.
