Luke 2:14 (KJV) “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”
The birth of Jesus Christ brought about reconciliation between God and man. Then, by reconciling with God through sincere and genuine repentance from all sins, man obtained “Peace with God.” Having obtained peace with God, man is mandated to live as agents of peace. The Bible says, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Heb 12:14; KJV). Pursue peace with EVERYONE; “In every relationship be swift to choose peace over competition” (Heb 12:14; TPT). The Bible declares, “Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God” (Mat 5:9; KJV).
Now, as part of our mandate to live as agents of peace, we have been called into the “ministry of reconciliation.” The Bible says, “And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation (2Co 5:18; KJV). As a child of God, you should not have peace of mind if you are not engaging in the work of reconciling souls to God through the preaching of the gospel of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. If you are “at ease” when souls are perishing, something has definitely gone wrong with your relationship with God. One of the true signs of spirituality is passion for soul-winning. The Bible says, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise” (Pro 11:30; KJV). The Bible promises that “they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever” (Dan. 12:3; KJV). Crave earnestly to be an ardent soul-winner for the Prince of Peace.
