Genesis 1:31 (KJV) “And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.”
After each day God declared His work “good,” but at the completion of creation, after He had created man, He declares it “very good.” This final assessment reveals several important truths. The first truth is that God is the Judge of His own works. Sometimes, we allow people to pass judgement on us regarding our shape, colour, or total body built. So, in the eyes of some people, you may be said to be ugly. But in the sight of the Almighty God, EVERYTHING He made was VERY GOOD. In fact, the Psalmist said, “I will praise Thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well” (Psa. 139:14). Know this: you can only be evaluated according to God’s standard, not according to human opinion. Everything God created is is complete, purposeful, and excellent. Nothing is accidental or defective in God’s original design. So, carry yourself always, with your God-invested value and dignity. Hallelujah!
Secondly, the phrase “God saw everything that He had made” shows that God reviewed His work as a whole; everything fitting together as intended. This teaches us that God finishes what He starts. The LORD God is not a God of abandoned projects. The Bible says, “Being confident of this very thing, that He (God) which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ” (Phil 1:6; KJV). The “very good” work the LORD God started in you will be completed in Jesus precious name. Glory to God in the highest!
