Luke 2:36 (KJV) [36] “And there was one Anna, a prophetess... [37] And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.
In today’s Scriptural text, the Bible introduces a woman of 84years by the name, Anna, a widow and a prophetess. The Bible tells us that she “served God” with fastings and prayers night and day. It is interesting to know that someone can serve God with fastings and prayers. Do you know what you are chosen to serve God with? Someone persons are chosen and gifted to serve God with “singing” with their “voices” or with some instruments of music. Some others are chosen to serve God with the lips, teaching and preaching the word of God.
Interestingly, the name Anna means “GRACE” and one of the meanings of the word, “grace” is “divine enablement”. To identify what you have been chosen to serve God with, identify the “grace of God” upon your life. There is the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ (1Co 1:4); focus your energy and time on it, and labour diligently with it. Apostle Paul said, “But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” (1Co 15:10; KJV). Glory to God!
