Genesis 1:1 (KJV) “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
The LORD our God is the Author of every beginning. From our Scriptural text today, we see that the Bible does not begin with human effort but with God. As a new year begins, this reminds us that our future is safest when it begins with God. Plans, goals, and resolutions find meaning only when rooted in Him. “In the beginning” marks a deliberate act of God, not an accident. Similarly, the new year is a divinely permitted season for you and 1. It is an opportunity for God to shape what seems formless in our lives. Just as God brought order out of chaos, He can bring hope out of disappointment, direction out of confusion, and purpose out of uncertainty.
The New Year is not empty; God is already there. “In the beginning” tells us God was present before time began. So, as we walk through the new year, we are not walking through it alone; God has already gone ahead of us. Therefore, let’s begin with God. Begin with prayer, not panic, and with faith, not fear.
