Genesis 3:7 (KJV) “And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.”
In Genesis 2:25, Adam and Eve were innocent of evil, so they were not shamed. They had not yet eaten of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Sin, guilt, and moral corruption were unknown realities to them. But in Genesis 3:7, they lost their innocence to sin. The loss of their innocence made them hide from the presence of the LORD. Innocence gives you freedom from fear of accusations.
In Romans 16:19, Apostle Paul said, “… I desire that you be wise indeed concerning good, but INNOCENT CONCERNING EVIL.” Innocence is not ignorance; it is purity without fear. It is not immaturity or lack of intelligence. Innocence is transparency without fear; it is no fear of exposure. When you walk in innocence, you will have no need for concealment (cover-up). May the LORD our God grant us grace to be innocent of evil in Jesus precious name.
