Joshua 24:15 (KJV) “... choose you this day whom ye will serve ... as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
Each new year calls for a fresh “yes” to God. It is time to re-commit our time, talents, finances, and future to the Lord. In our Scriptural text, Joshua called on the children of Israel to take responsibility for their choice of whom to serve. In the New Year ahead, we must cease from playing games and resolve on following and serving the LORD our God. There are several things waiting to compete for our loyalty to the LORD God. The grace of God is available unto us to help us keep to our resolution and commitment at all costs.
Now, Joshua declared, “as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” Just like Joshua, we must be resolved to provide spiritual leadership for our family members. The pursuit of “Household Discipleship” must be one of our goals in 2026. The home is a primary arena of faith formation. What is practiced at home repeats in the society. Serving the LORD should not merely be an individual pursuit; it should also be a generational pursuit. Be resolved today that you will not go to heaven alone; your family members must be saved and must serve the LORD. Apostle said to the Philippian jailer, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” (Acts 16:31; KJV). This is the will of God. May this be our testimony at the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, in Jesus precious name.
