Isaiah 7:14 (KJV) “Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
In today’s Scriptural text, the birth of Jesus Christ was promised by the LORD God during the reign of King Ahaz of Judah (c. 735–715BC). This promise was fulfilled in Luke 2:1–7, during the reign of Caesar Augustus, the first Roman Emperor (27BC–AD14), a powerful ruler, even called “saviour” and “lord” in Roman propaganda. In this month of December, we are reminded through these biblical accounts, that God is a promise-keeper. Centuries-old prophecies were fulfilled in detail. What God has spoken over your life will surely come to pass, in the name of Jesus Christ. God is personally committed to fulfilling His promises. The LORD God said, “I will hasten my word to perform it” (Jer. 1:12). Hallelujah!
The Bible says, “God is not a man, that he should lie…” (Num. 23:19). In Isaiah 55:10–11, the LORD God said, “For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth; it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” God’s word is certain because God is faithful. Unlike human promises, God’s words are rooted in His unchanging character. When God speaks, His word carries His integrity, power, and authority. The Bible says, “Hath he said, and shall he not do it?” (Num. 23:19). Now, be aware that God’s promises often unfold in God’s timing, not ours – “The vision is yet for an appointed time…” (Hab. 2:3). I speak over your life: There shall be a performance of the things spoken by the Lord, in the precious name of Jesus Christ. Glory to God!
