Heb 4:12 (GW) “… God’s word judges a person’s thoughts and INTENTIONS.”
Just like our thoughts, we are expected to admit only pure intentions into our hearts. An intention can be a purpose, a goal, a plan, a target, a motive, or an objective. Simply put, an intention is something a man aims to achieve or the “motive” behind what a man aims to achieve. It is possible to do a good thing but with a wrong or evil intention or evil motive. For example, a man can be showing kindness to a lady with the hidden intention of seeking a sexual relationship with her. Wrong or evil intentions (or motives) pollute our hearts. Therefore, we must sincerely examine the intentions or motives of our actions, to ensure they are truly pure, lovely, and holy at all times. We can subject every intention or motive of our hearts to the judgment of God’s word. Again, any intention or motive that fails the “purity test” of God’s word must be rejected.
Our Prayers: Heavenly Father, I commit to ensuring that my intentions or motives are pure before You, by the help of Your Holy Spirit, in the precious name of Jesus Christ.
